I was born and raised in the western suburbs of Sydney and after finishing school I travelled around Australia for nearly two years before moving onto the family farm. A much better tinkerer than farmer, I invented a revolutionary farming product with my father and brother. Trying to compete with offshore manufacturing, we moved to China to set up a factory ourselves. I spent the next five years in China riding a steep learning curve, but it gave me valuable exposure to a variety of industries as well as the opportunity to travel south east Asia.
My journey into photography has been pretty short. I have some graphic design experience but it wasn’t until about a year ago that I really started to learn about photography. I had a flat mate at the time who was an avid photographer and gave me the encouragement I needed to start pursuing it seriously.
From there it’s all happened pretty fast, I’m still in the process of putting portfolio together! It’s a real honour to win the shoot the face category and has me incredibly excited about what’s to come in the future.
