Tom Stables is a wildlife and landscape photographer. Tom’s interest in photography stemmed from his first trip to Kenya aged 13. Since then he has returned to Kenya twice and also visited Zambia, Namibia, Botswana and South Africa. Fuelling his passion for photography is an interest in conservation; recognising the importance of highlighting the value of the few pockets of wilderness left in our world today.
One particular highlight of Tom’s career was photographing in Meru National Park, Kenya for the Born Free Foundation in 2016. Photographing the four main prides in the park was identified as key to strengthening the status of the lion monitoring program. Alongside this, he produced a general portfolio of the park highlighting the valuable work Born Free have been doing alongside the KWS (Kenyan Wildlife Service) to combat the effects of the intensive poaching experienced in the park during the 1990’s.
