Eternal Gaze

Thirty million years ago, tectonic forces began to buckle and fold solid rock, battling the ceaseless power of wind and rain. This eerie rock formation, discovered in 2005, is the result of this geological struggle. By day, the cliff face appears unassuming. A chaotic blend of twisted stone and hollowed cavities. But when lit from above with perfectly positioned lighting, an eerie skull emerges, gazing across the valley below. The warm glow of the valley’s inhabitants stretches across the horizon beneath the clear night sky. This image was created using a custom lighting rig mounted to a drone, allowing precise illumination of the mountain’s contours and the defiant trees sprouting from the bare rock.
