A Greeting

January at Pt. Reyes National Seashore. It's mating season for elephant seals and there are many of them laying on the beach, thankfully behind concrete barriers to protect them from inquisitive tourists. Every few minutes, one of these huge, lumbering creatures hoists itself up to greet us and, just as quickly, lies back down to continue it's nap.
