Recovery: Kangaroo Island Koalas

2019-2020 summer in Australia showed us just how devastating wildfires can truly be, around 20,000 Koala's are believed to have lost their lives on this island alone. One year later and the landscape is still barren and scorched rather than the lush eucalyptus forests that used to grace these rolling hills. But even in the face of adversity Koalas once again lounge in the treetops, with tiny furry joeys that cling to their mothers and show that recovery isn’t easy but life will always find a way.
