When the pandemic started, many of us flight attendants were laid off, grounded, or had to stay in the hotel or even in room quarantine. Being a flight crew member is the epitome of the definition of freedom, yet today most of us are caged. The pandemic did not only limit the freedom we had to explore our surroundings, but it also limited our mental capacity. Flying around the world is not a job, but rather a way of living. We are adapted to jet lags and moving through time zones. Many of us are anxious about the future; many of us have already lost our jobs; many of us don’t see our home - the world - accessible.
