The Famous Old Man Of Storr The Old Man Of Storr is an iconic landmark, well seen on the drive north of Portree. It is well worth a closer look to appreciate the sheer beauty of the rock scenery here. After a short 45-minute hike (2.5km) up the steep mountain, passing Cathedral Rock, you’ll have a perfect view on the Old Man of Storr. I recommend timing your visit around sunset or sunrise, the sun will hit the rocks perfectly and the pastel-coloured skies provide you with the most amazing photos.
