Puffin Portrait

I was surrounded by puffins and almost all of them were in flight. Though it might not be common knowledge, puffins like to show off. I sat in the tall grass, camera ready, as puffins flew in circles—each time getting a little closer to show me the silvery sand eels hanging from their beaks—but only a glimpse before flying away from me again. This guy was one of the few that landed, but he immediately ducked into his burrow. Lucky for me, I had time to wait—and I'm so glad I did! Time passed and he emerged from his burrow. He paused before taking flight giving me just enough time to capture this portrait.
