Desert Rain

I arrived in Monument Valley after a stormy day on the road. I wanted to get to my campsite on reservation land but when I saw this vista, approaching from the north, I had to capture it. As someone suffering from chronic environmental illness I need to breath clean, warm, dry air. After losing my job and leaving my moldy home I bought a travel trailer and hit the road. I've been living out in the desert for the last six months hoping that these remote locations and the clean air they provide will help me heal, and I've returned to photography as a way to document my journey, capture the beauty of the places I'm camping, and share my story. The desert isn't just beautiful to me - it's medicine - and this image seemed like such a good metaphor for my journey.
