Faith

Photographed by Anant Raje

An evening at the Ganga aarti (Prayers to the river goddess Ganga) at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. I planted myself at a spot that would allow me to frame the line of priests disappearing into the the smoke of the incense, an hour before the ceremony began. And at last, after a long wait, it happened just as I had imagined it.
