Camel market in Omdurban is the biggest in Sudan and one of the largest in Sub-Saharan Africa. Sellers bring the animals from all over the country, very often from western Darfur province, more than thousand kilometres away. But for a quality animal earnings can reach to several thousands US dollars. Unsold camels then continue through the dessert to another market several hundred kilometres north to Egyptian Marsa Alam.
