Open wide kiddo

Here is a moment I was lucky enough to capture. A male Northern Cardinal (aka Dad) is feeding his young one (aka Kid). In the photo, you see Dad is feeding his a sunflower kernel to his kid. What you didn't know is that Dad took the sunflower seed and use his beak to break down the shell and then feed the kernel to his kid. The evergreen branch was flexible, light and keeps bouncing up and down forcing Dad to open his wing to try and keep balance and so that's why you see him open his wings while feeding the kid. Moments later, Mom arrived and Dad actually feed Mom too. Just beautiful moments to observed.
