In the grass

by Luc Gatterdam

This picture is of a beautiful jaguar at the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado. Most of the animals at this facility are rescued from horrific captive situations and they aim to rehabilitate them so they can live and roam freely within large natural habitats with others of their own kind. Every time I look at this photo I can see the jaguar reflecting on its past and enjoying the new life it lives. It’s heartwarming for me to see this animal so calm and living its best live knowing what it might have gone through in the past.
