Silent Observer

It was a quiet spring morning at Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. I had been waiting for a break in the crowds, hoping to capture a clear shot of the famous torii gates, when something else caught my attention. Tucked away in the bushes just off the path, a small bird sat watching the visitors pass by. It seemed completely at ease, observing the world with quiet curiosity. As I turned my camera toward it, a few rays of morning sunlight filtered through the leaves, gently highlighting the bird and creating a soft contrast against the background. For a brief moment, everything felt still. Then, just as quickly, the bird plucked a bright red berry from the branch and flew off—continuing on its way, leaving behind a simple yet memorable scene.
