Driving Across the Highlands

We decided to take a two week camping trip through the Scottish Highlands in the dead of winter. We rented a Defender so we would be well prepared for off road territories and bad weather. When we reached the Northwest region we came across land as far as the eye could see, covered in snow. Running along the mountains were herds of deer and low hanging clouds. Piercing the white snow was a long black river running smack through the middle of the road. We had never seen anything like it; it was wild, rugged and free, not another soul in sight.
