Make living on fog lake at cold winter

During an eco-tour and exploring Tuyen Lam Lake, 20km from Da Lat city in Vietnam, I saw the connection of people with the ecosystem here, which prompted me to make this series of photos. I photographed the water and its surrounding ecosystem at Tuyen Lam Lake for 3 years with full nuances, landscapes, seasons, artistic colors, and including human activities in that ecosystem. I want to inspire, and human friendliness towards nature and Water plays a central, important role in the lives of people, landscapes, creatures, plants, and all. They live nomadic around the lake, fishing with their own traditional, primitive, handmade fishing nets. They use fish to exchange food for living, and their children are also born and live floating on fish rafts in large rivers and lakes. I have talked with them a few times and learned about their lives. They can't keep up with the modern way of life, have no education, no knowledge, no land to cultivate, no property and necessities to secure a life, that's why they choose to live a nomadic life, almost isolated from society, relying on nature to make a living. The main reason is probably the disparity between the rich and the poor, inequality and rapid development in developing countries. The photo is part of my photo series in a book called "The ancient craft of nomadic Fishing in Vietnamese lakes and rivers" published by Musec Museo Culture Lugano and Artphilein Editions SA (Milan - Italy) on September 22, 2021.
