Nocturnal Majesty

The Milky Way rises over 14,411 foot Mt. Rainier in Washington state on a clear summer night. This image was made from the trail to the Mt. Fremont fire lookout high above the Sunrise Visitor Center on the northeast side of Mt. Rainier. The mountain was shot at blue hour, and a stack of Milky Way images were shot later in the evening, without moving the camera. The composite was assembled in Photoshop.
