Preening White Faced Heron
In the late afternoon light, I came across this White Faced Heron hiding in the scrub above a small pond where it had been feeding. Unfortunately there have been fewer births of these magnificent and elegant birds in my local park. I believe this is largely due to the Australasian White Ibis destroying the local lake habitat and as a result, pushing other birdlife away from the Park.
