A portrait made on my first morning ever in India, wandering the streets after 30 sleepless hours of travel. He walked through the quiet dawn light, and the glow on his back caught my eye. When I asked to make his photograph, he agreed with such kindness and patience — a gentle welcome to a beautiful country.
